There's literally no reason to be afraid of confession. Afraid your sins are gonna get out? You've got the seal of confession to protect you, and if the priest breaks it, he's excommunicated and laicized. Afraid the priest is going to judge you/ be ashamed of you? Don't worry. He's probably heard it all, and he will never be ashamed with you, as the fact your sitting in that confessional means that you're trying to improve yourself. So yeah, have no fear! Thanks for those positive words! In think what’s most terrifying is the fact that I’ve committed so many mortal sins in my life, and now I have to recall them. It’s just a very disappointing and nerve wracking feeling.
